  • For a point guard a 50" vertical leap is just a "nice to have." Skills have to map closely with the job requirements.

  • Mac deserves a shot. I think he can play in the nba

  • I live in northern va and seen him live and watched him on tv quite a bit. I personally think the kid can play in the NBA. I doubt he will be a superstar, but I see no reason why he can't play in the league for 10 years. He just isn't the one and done type of player that we usually see in college. I was wondering what took Gtown so long to put him back on the ball. He needs to improve his efficiency but I wouldn't be suprised to see him on a NBA roster in a couple of years.

  • If you think this freak of nature and natural born gift to the game isnt going to the NBA because he isn't as goood as even the worst nba player. They drafred mugs bogies. Mac mclung is a playmaker and dominates. After he gets his pt gaurd game solid he is unstoppable. He will be the most electifying and effective pt gaurd in history

  • There are a lot of college players you watched and they had a certain play ability that screamed NBA. Like say Grant Hill in the day you knew he was gonna kill in the NBA because he was a college player with NBA talent. When I watch Mac he just doesn't have that NBA look to him. He slides through and puts himself into a position to score but I see the holes getting swallowed up in the big leagues. So then that leaves assists and jumper %. He does see the court well but will he see it the same in the big leagues is the question. I'm not saying that it can't be done and that he won't but I see quite an uphill climb for this guy to get to the level it will take to compete with the big boys.

  • It takes an open mind to see this. It's all sub/unconscious. It's hard for institutions to accept things they haven't seen before. What sucks is because there's so much disbelief thrown their way, a lot of times it can affect the view the person has of themselves. Anyone who goes against a narrative is hard for the status quo to accept. They're matrix breakers. Nick Mannion is a cerebral player, fits the mold of a Hinrich or Ridnour archetype. Mcclung plays more on feel and uses athleticism, but he's white. It goes against the media/NBA's notion of what he should be. Mcclung is a 6'2 scoring guard with great athleticism...almost like a slightly more poor version of what Zach Lavine was at the same age. But he doesn't have the aesthetic appearance of most players that fit the description of athletic 6'2 scoring guard. Like I said, it takes an open mind to see this. Its a controversial topic.

  • He is good. There is no doubt about it. But with that size the NBA would be looking for play maker and/or a three point threat. They are not looking for a 6'1 who loves to dunk. Although if he was a 6'8 or 6'10, it might be a different story. Steve Nash, John stockton were an exception so I wont use them as an example. But there are so many others who are not as athletic that size that made it in NBA simply because they have the ability to pass.

  • Vern Fleming went to my high school he was so amazing. Took Georgie to a Final 4. Won a gold in 1984 in the Olympics before the Dream Teams. Vern had a great career who was know as a total gentleman and role model. Yet Vern wasn’t a big Phenom in the NBA. We also have Tony Red Bruin and Dyane Johnson winning city but never state. I seeMac making the NBA and being this same type of player. Time will tell. I know he played great against my Alma Mater St Johns University the other night. Which was also associated with our High School Mater Christi that became St Johns Prep. Where coach Gatto made the Hall Of Fame. If you put a high school Mac next to a high school Vern. No contest. Vern was so amazing in high school.

    • Ps I was also at the Final Four where St Jon’s played Georgetown in 85. We made shirts made that I still own. It said St. Johns is Back on the front! Your mother is a ‘Hoya’ on the back. How much trouble would we get into today?! It was such a crazy game the seats shook. Only better game was being at the Mets game 6 World Series in 86. The guy Michael Sergio who parachuted onto the game is a close friend and legend here for that stunt that the judge game him spend a few weeks in Rikers. Mike told the judge ‘Fuck You I don’t rat’, as the judge wanted to who flew the plane. Imagine a stunt like that today too?! Sorry to switch topics. I definitely respect Mac and again time will tell. I like that he is humble and I hope he stays that way. I feel he will as he comes from a good family!

  • McClung would need to accept the fact he is 6'1 180 with short arms, and be more like TJ solid. run the offense, handle the ball, make open shots, take what the defense gives him.....

    H SH S21 วันที่ผ่านมา
  • McClung is a good player no doubt and will probably be on an NBA team as an undrafted player in the next couple of years...The problem is this...he is shorter than steph curry, and he can jump no doubt but he isnt dunking on people in traffic for two reasons. First, his arms are very short, and two it takes him a long time to gather and explode, amortization phase of jumping, which is a symptom of manufacturing vertical. In the NBA he is a below average athlete and will need a quicker release. guards are bigger, quicker, longer than he is. EVERYONE can jump in the NBA, so guys have to develop other skills. Look at chauncey billups, such a great athlete in hs in college, but it was all negated int he NBA so he opted to focus on quickness, and shooting......and billups is BIGGER than Mcclung....

  • His 13pt average is very good in college basketball because that's the equivalent to a 25pt average in the NBA it's common sense games in college end around 50 to 80points on average in the NBA its 70 to 100 points. Mac is a beast !!
