  • I don't think him not making the NBA will be about development. It's going to bold down to politics and his height. Not realizing the poliical aspect is a major miss. It's a shame to see kids that have skills get glassed over... but that's the world we live in. I grew up in the country in Texas where guys like this kid were a dime a dozen. Like freaks of nature walking around everywhere. Made my skin crawl. But none of them ever went anywhere and did anything. The super athletics kids that stand out on the court get hated on due to them looking like they are playing backyard ball. My coach use to call it "backyard jyro". (ok truth time... all of them had piss poor grades and were dumb as fizzzzuck) The structured basketball that is the NBA just doesn't suit well to highlight real players. You get one every 10 years or so but that one will be a tall guy freak of nature. The rest are just big and take up a lot of space. It will look bad on scouts and coaches if lil guys start to be let in... in droves... and make a place. Sure there will be one or two and maybe even a third but you're not going to see many. My gutt is telling me he is not going to be one of them.

  • Because he is WHITE. I'm black and had multiple college scholarship offers. Prior to college i mostly played on black/city teams. I've seen the animosity and racism that many blacks have toward non blacks. Especially those non blacks playing the point. McClung is given an opportunity would be an offensive all star in the NBA.

  • He is very talented but he's both too short and too injury prone. His season was cut short at Georgetown both his Freshman and Sophomore seasons. If he loses that huge vertical he won't be that great at least not at the NBA level. If he works on the 3 point shot more and assists #'s he could be the next John Stockton. If not Semi- Pro like "the Professor" will probably be as far as he goes.

  • With so many nba players gulping down the koolaid of the neo Marxist religious cult. Mac will have a chance to play in the NBA. the cultural Marxist cult religion is entirely based on appearances and self righteousness. Just as the evil Pharisees would drop their coins into the collection cup so loud that everyone could hear it... these cultists also will tweet and scream at the top of their lungs to make sure everyone knows just how self righteous and “woke” they are. Their cult religion will fail of course because it’s based in a secular worldview and does not have a true anthropology (it should be rejected on these grounds alone) it can’t be argued for or supported with anything other than anecdotal evidence whcih is useless. It can’t be taken seriously in debate because it ignores facts. It appeals to the emotive and not those who think first. Those religious cultists like kyrie Irving, Avery Bradley and others will ultimately end up not playing any more and retiring or starting their own league because If They follow their anti-Christ religious doctrine to its illogical conclusion then they will never play for a white owner. As their religion seeks to subjugate ALL whites and bring them to knee. Just as the Islamic religion seeks to subjugate all jews and Christians. Mac will be fine. Looking forward to his NBA debut

  • He's a really small SG, has a mediocre jump shot, and plays nearly non-existent defense. He's gonna need to develop into more of a PG and facilitator to have any chance of going to the next level.

  • He’ll be in the NBA for sure. He can dribble and shoot with either hand, he can shoot, and he’s quick. He plays hard on both ends and coach’s love that. He’ll get drafted.

  • why shouldn't he be in the nba? .. he's already better than most nba players who were not as tall as he is plus he has 2 more years of college to improve which is a done deal since he supposedly has such a good work ethic

  • Not sure why anyone's talking the NBA with McClung, he's only played 1 year at Georgetown, and it was good but nothing incredible. Let him play a few more years, develop his speed and outside shot, as he's already a monster dunker, and then talk NBA. At 6', he's going to have a tough time with NBA guards who will be several inches taller than him, blocking most of his shots.

Russell Fine ArtsRussell Fine Arts5 หลายเดือนก่อน
  • Seen this play out over and over throughout the years. White players who are outstanding in HS, stars in college, but then struggle to make it in the NBA. The main reasons usually are below average lateral quickness on defense and below average wingspan which helps enormously on D, combined with poor shot selection and/or inconsistent outside shooting which makes them more of a liability than an advantage on the court - on average. If they are truly exceptional at one or two skills such as exceptional outside shooting or gifted vision & passing, they have a chance to stick. McClung is not exceptional or gifted at either of these skills. Prediction: He'll make a couple of NBA teams' rosters, have a handful of good games mixed with lots of bench time, and frequently be sent back down to the D-league hoping for another call-up. His claim to pro fame might only be getting into the NBA's dunk contest at some point.

  • The main problem is that he's not going to a big time school also he's really undersized to be guarding nba pgs and sgs. Also he's in a smaller school in a smaller league and isn't lighting it up enough to really get any attention. So maybe he'll get a chance on a g league team. It's more likely he'll play overseas or not at all professionally

  • Who would I compare him to... hmmm... let's see... perhaps, Larry Bird, perhaps Magic Johnson, probably even a Kobe. Oh... I almost forgot Jordan. His abilities attest to the fact he has something 98% of college players lack horribly. HARD WORK AND DETERMINATION. I can easily understand how he could be derailed at Georgetown. None of which diminishes his capabilities. I'd bet my life that Mc Clung has more hours in the gym and less hours on a gaming console than ANY of his teammates. Oh! Should I mention... I'm Black. I'm old enough to remember when 'ballers' knew how to ball!

  • The point that almost every commentator is missing is the "Audience" factor. Mac's got over 700,000 followers on Instagram. NBA owners will take a shot on him (a) because of his freakish athleticism (b) because he has so much undeveloped talent as a true PG and (c) he's going to put a lot of PAYING customers in arena seats! That's the bottom line on why he'll be a surprise lottery pick this year.
