    • Complacent (“kuhm-play-sihnt”) is an adjective. It describes someone that is generally satisfied with conditions and too comfortable to complain or make a fuss. Complicit (pronounced “kuhm-pliss-itt”) is an adjective. It describes someone who is guilty of being an accessory to someone else’s criminal or immoral activity. Maybe they were involved in it, or covering it up, or maybe they are guilty because they refuse to blow the whistle on wrongdoing or corruption that they are aware of.

    • Complacent? If you are going to use all caps it helps if you don't look dumb doing it.

  • Welcome to my world. Critical Care nursing, and this lifeguard really means business. I can tell he takes his position very seriously. Go ahead try working with little gods all day that keep telling you what to do and it's wrong. This is the best way I know had a piss a doctor off, during a code one situation this physician is telling me to push the wrong drug. I'm like a pitbull like my father no you push it you're going to kill the patient and I know it. Honey it really gets through goat when you correct them I love it. Yeah you can't be right in the head to want to be a critical care nurse since the age of 4. Honey I've seen some s*** go down. If the families only really knew they would be billionaires. • Chad was the only funny skit for me. The hot tub skit would have been funny, but Jimmy Fallon ruined it as usual. Breaking character or constantly laughing while you speak is not a personality. Will Ferrel and Rachel Dratch were being so professional and Fallon was just hamming it up and trying to outshine the host. I feel like that is contrary to the goal of the show. To feature the host and create a show around them. Not try to steal the show by acting like you just can't control yourself. Pffffft. Fallon isn't funny and never will be. Honestly I think Jimmy Kimmel is funnier.

    • Comedy taste is subjective.

      joey morvantjoey morvant28 วันที่ผ่านมา
    • @Rant All About It Yeah I can def see that- Some comedy seems timeless... But I feel like that tends to be less based around cultural references in the day and surround something we can all relate to in any era.

Digital Design and InnovationDigital Design and Innovationหลายเดือนก่อน
    • I don't think it's that Old SNL wasn't funny, I just think it's more that comedy and humor "age out" if that makes sense. Comedy is indicative of the era it's in. It's funny at the time but as time goes on and the jokes aren't as relevant or culturally significant, without context they lose their punch. I'm 19, when I watch old sketches I don't find them funny because I don't get the references or themes in the jokes. I find the newer sketches hilarious because they are based things that I've experienced or seen in the world around me. I'm sure decades from now, if young people watch sketches from the 2010s/2020s they won't find them funny because they won't have lived through things like the pandemic, the current socio-political climate, or current pop culture, so the jokes won't make sense to them.☺️Sorry about my ramblings... just my rant that nobody asked for 😂

    • @Emily Smith I have been watching SNL since 1978. It's not that I simply forgot about the bad skits, it's the ratio of good to bad that has changed for the worse. SNL has had some rough patches in the past but the ratio has never been as bad as it has gotten lately. It used to average near 75-85% good or funny. Now it's running about 50/50 even much lower at times. The news skit is horrible and there are only three members who have a balance of good talent, Cecily Strong being the standout. I realize some of this is subjective but I am clearly not alone in thinking this. The other two standouts for me are Heidi Gardner and Melissa Villaseñor with Kenan Thompson being the ONLY guy to even approach humorous of the male cast.

      The MechaniacalThe Mechaniacalหลายเดือนก่อน
    • Oh, honestly. If you watched every single episode, you would realize that there were plenty of bad ones in early seasons. The only memories you have left are of the good ones.

  • I forgot just how unfunny Jim Carey is. And how Jimmy Fallon can’t go one scene without breaking.

    • I'm not a Jim Carey fan either, but I think he's gifted in the same way Buster Keaton or Charlie Chaplin were. Once you recognize that he is an expert in his own genre (physical comedy), then his success kind of makes sense. Compare it to routines that are perhaps similar in their approach. For instance, I never personally thought it was funny when the 3 stooges got pies thrown in their face or argued amongst each other. This is also probably for the same reason I never thought it was that funny when Elmer Fudd stubs his toe chasing Buggs Bunny, but, you know, some people love that stuff, and I think that's what Jim Carey excels at. The guy is able to create the momentum of a cartoon character. I don't think that's easy when you consider that cartoons are humourous exaggerations of real people, not actually real people themselves. I mean just imagine who else would have acted in a live-action adaption of the Grinch? I don't think other, even competent comedy actors like Chevy Chase or Ben Stiller, would have been able to do such.
