This was fascinating! Especially about the banana disease, GMO and the ripening process- thanks for the video I definitely learnt something!
me too

Who needs einstein when we have ann reardon
I agreee!
Hi
The way she says banana makes me so happy.
The whole banana thing, I don’t get why we only grow cavendish for the masses. Why can’t they use this time to work 3 or 4 different varieties into the mainstream? Why after the 50s did we all go to cavendish.
bananas are the most popular? what about strawberries?
I love these so much - thank you for making them. A lot of effort is involved I would imagine! Love to you, your hubby, and your boys from rainy England ✌🏻
iirc you can speed up avocado ripening by putting them with bananas.
Please do the same on guac and avocado! Bananas are cheap, avocado is the real deal!!!!!
As the 9th Doctor would say don't drop the banana. Good source of potassium! Before I go and watch other videos, your videos are fantastic.
GMO is sometimes required to even get the thing people want. Without GMO some vegetables and fruits don't even look like we're used to seeing them. Besides, if GMO was really unhealthy, they would not be allowed. For example, fake drugs like aspirin and tylenol is sought out and destroyed because that kills you. But GMO's don't.
In fact I made bananas with chocolate many times. I usually wrap it all in tin foil and cook at the edge of a campfire. It's a great campfire treat.
Day 2 of asking Anne to do more clever or never😃
15:54 wait bananas are immortal🤣oh and yo
That wild banana photo will haunt my dreams forever.
In kerala we use the skin of unripe bananas as a vegetable. We shallow fry them with spices and its a tasty dish
9:00 Ok, but does anyone else think that the banana peels look like delicious noodles?!
Hey Ann happy new year. I would like you to react and debunk this video. th-vision.net/detail/%E0%B8%A7%E0%B8%B5%E0%B8%94%E0%B8%B5%E0%B9%82%E0%B8%AD-Swp3T2JDKnA.html

Brown bananas makes the best bananabread
Well, a real receipe. when the bananas seems just too ripe to be eaten as it. I cook flamed bananas : a little butter in a stove, make the bananas caramelize (without the peel). When cook enough, you can add a little of strong alcohol (Rum, Cointreau, etc... whatever you like). then ignite the alcohol in the stove. serve warm... that's really tasty. and not fake. There's an alternative, in oven, but there you cook the banana cut in its length with its peel, and don't flame them in the oven.
Hahahah even monkeys peel bananas!
the banana peel just have the taste of the sauce... too much sauce, it's the secret to hide no tastes or bad tastes. that's not food, in my own opinion.
People unjustly hate GMO. Every bit of vegetables and fruits we have is already a GMO. There's a big difference between 'natural GMO' like crossbreeding and splicing, and 'unnatural GMO' with chemicals and pesticides being spliced into the plants.
As a kid , we used to do the chocolate banana thing all the time! Not in the microwave like that, though. We'd put a very sweet kind of children's chocolates in (koetjesrepen) and wrap the banana in tinfoil before sticking it in the oven. The endresult was quite different.
I have to say i have done the chocolate and banana on and i love it.. we did that at school and i am now 51
The vast majority of people who have problems with GMOs don’t actually understand what GMOs are. All of the crops humans consume are genetically modified. The real difference is how they were made: in a laboratory or on a farm. As you pointed put wild bananas are radically different to domesticated bananas and the same holds true for virtually every other crop humans raise.
I just wanna add that the leaf one wouldn't even work as it looks similar to monster deliciosa or other aroids that look similar to it and they require a node cutting to grow but the cutting shown was that of a leaf, not a node.
Dave goes through a LOT O.O
Instead of having a banana in your purse to protect from the sun, why not have sunblock in your purse. And people wont look at you like you've lost your mind.
I personally dont have much of an issue with GMOs as we are going to have 2 rely on them more and more as the population grows and as climate change issues continue to rise. I also think you cant lump all GMOs into the same category. Like cross breeding 2 kinds of oranges or something isnt exactly the same as manipulating a plants DNA and adding genes from a completely different type of food like when they added a brazil nut gene into soy beans or watever, I 4got the exact plants involved. Either way though they need more long term studies b4 anything can be said for certain.

Thank you 4 exposing these frauds! I just dont understand how people make these fake hacks that can really be harmful and just dont care that they might be really hurting people! Like, why!? For some stupid views!? Humans really disgust me a lot of the time. Also I'm 99% sure bananas are a fruit, not a veggie, but no big deal. Im glad 2 know all these hack videos arent real though. I used to try them sometimes and be so frustrated that my attempts never worked! It never occurred to me that anyone would make videos like that and just blatantly LIE, purposely making hacks they know are BS! I'm lucky I never tried anything dangerous!
Rose Mary is only good on poultry I don’t think it would be good on bananas....
LOL
I love your videos. My husband especially likes your debunking videos. We came across this video on making a 5 minute birthday cake in the microwave. Wanted to see what your input is? Here’s the link. th-vision.net/detail/%E0%B8%A7%E0%B8%B5%E0%B8%94%E0%B8%B5%E0%B9%82%E0%B8%AD-scgcui1ot5s.html
Pretty sure for the people who grow bananas for a income and food source would need the gmo banana otherwise they'd have to find something or somewhere else to plant
I've been calling it Gross Michelle this entire time lmao

It’s so awesome how she put so much work into these videos!
GMO phobias, why? Everything we eat has at one time or another over thousands of years been modified. Maze (corn), apples, peppers (you can't get to a ghost pepper without modification), and there are thousands of other examples.
In the US some of us put chocolate, marshmallows, and red hots inside a banana, wrap it in foil, and heat it in the coals of a campfire when camping. It’s a similar tradition to s’mores in youth camping or at least it was decades ago when I was a kid. I don’t recall thinking it smelled bad. I do recall the taste and liked it but liked s’mores better. We called it a banana boat long before I ever heard of suntan oil of the same name.
That hairdryer trick made me call you and what you did witchcraft out loud. After you admited to using a dry erase marker made me exclaim I knew it out loud.
My main problem with GMO is in apples tbh... they grow them to be larger and prettier and as a result they lose all the taste and become crispy water
I wonder what the squeaking around 24 minutes in was 🤔 A bird? Australia has a lot of strange birds
*My family has been murdered*
Thanks, I'll appreciate bananas more =)
Cooking banana peels isn't as uncommon as you think. In many countries, to eliminate food waste, they cook with everything. It's why their are so many recipes that exist using the "throw away" parts of animals
Is the ripening process for other fruits and vegetables the same?
I think the reason why the hacks are so bad is because they don’t expect anyone to actually do them lol 😂
You should look at 5 minute crafts outdoor cooking hacks that you have to try.
Poor the banana and the plant :"> Is this a natural abuse no no im just kidding xD btw love you video ann keep it up making good content
good thing we eat bananas even when it's already brown. also, we have a lot of them...
The only thing I have against GMOs is that they are owned by monopolies (IE Soros) who have a lot of control over small farmers. I have no problem with the GMO food itself and think they could solve a lot of problems
There are many types of delicious Bananas without seeds and it taste better than cavendish. banana Musa acuminata aka. Señorita Some of them hve no english translation Lakatan/Lacatan Latundan and Saba which can be cooked in many ways
You can make venigar with overiped bananas
This is very educational. I love Bananas and I Love HowtoCookThat
The fridge bananas were the most surprising ones. It looks edible aside from the brown skin.
Dave said "even monkeys peel bananas" 🤣😂

The work this woman is doing is colossal (in the best possibly imagined sense): she not only does killer research (kudos!) and comes up with down-to-earth "classes" in her videos; she is confronting the "farms" along with whoever and whatever may be behind them. She is like a lone hero trying her best for at least a few (ten-? hundred-?) thousands to see what YT and other platforms have become. All this without calling revolution or screaming death to capitalism. BRAVA!
Dave :- “Do we trust her?” Me :- “Oh yes, more than anyone else on TH-vision”
GMO isn’t the evil of all evils. Like all things it depends on the modification. Botanists have been modifying plants long before people understood what it was
YES CHOCOLATE BANANA°0° We always do them in camps on a campfire and it’s so awesome aaaaaah
I must have been watching this, when I fell asleep. Because I had a dream about a guy putting banana juice on his face, for health. But the guy in my dream, was spinning the banana in a mechanism, to get the juices to the tip (real dream) . Hmmmmm.... #1, .... not gay. #2, I don't believe in most "natural cure" videos. #3, (I just made and ate pop-tarts for the first time in 30 years.)
Plant abuuuuuse . Bad five minute crafts >:(
Cooked banana’s delicious what are u talking about
ive gotten so many bad sunburns and burn worse with sunscreen so i just dont go outside also how can you read a book in the sun just go inside
*No plants and fruits were harmed in the making of this vide...oh wait*
