  • To this day alot of things about the murders that happend and reasons behind it and the circumstances after it dont add up. Chris Beniot never gave off signs of being a madman or a killer according to friends or family members. Most of the time he spoke fondly about his wife and son and despite occasionally having verbal fights with Nancy which is common in any marriage or relationship Chris managed to keep his calm. Makes you wonder if people said he was a killer why didnt he kill her then and his son? Thats a strange thing that makes people think. And the claims of his dementia its been revealed that dementia effects people from moving to talking to functioning in daily life. Even with medications and treatments no one can physically function at 100 percent. At no point in time did anyone claim Chris was having trouble with moving or functioning. A condition like dementia is something if people get cant hide. Yet somehow Chris was able to hide this from WWE and his friends and family? Not possible. Even with the steroids he was believed to be taking someone would have noticed that something was wrong with him. Not to mention how could WWE medical doctors not catch this sooner? Given the physical wear and tear in WWE and the concussion rates and Chris being known for being stiff how could they not think to examine his head sooner. Its known Chris did suffer concussions in the past yet somehow no one in WWE's medical staff thought gee we should examine his brain for possible signs of damage and trauma. The official story has so many things that are shady. Chris Beniot passes his medical exam according to Vince Mcmahon yet Chris tells his dad he needed the steroids for his neck injury he suffered many years prior? WWE medical teams dont think to examine his brain knowing he has suffered concussions in the past? Not to mention prior of the murders that it was mentioned by Nancys sister that despite Chris busting a car window after a angry verbal fight with Nancy he was still in complete control and didnt try to kill her then along with his son. Even if Chris was effected by the death of his friend Eddie it was still known Chris continued his career without signs of any trouble for nearly 2 years since Eddies death. Now it could mean a number of things. WWEs medical team was so poor with exams that they didnt catch his brain issues sooner. Or WWE hid the medical exam results from Chris and quietly didnt say anything. Or Chris somehow found out about the problems with his brain and feared WWE forcing him to retire thus making him feel like he failed as a father because he couldnt do what he loved and provide for his family and decided to kill them and himself. The whole situation remains shady and parts of it dont add up.

  • This David Benoit kid has my full support. The hardest story I can possibly imagine. I lost my parents too but I was older and it wasn't to such brutal tragedies. I cannot imagine feeling what that kid felt. David, if you're reading these comments... be tough, brother. Even total strangers are proud of you. Stay strong.

  • The same thing happens to people coming back from war their brain is rewired sometimes causing them to cause harm to their families and to themselves when prior to the damage they were subjected to weatherby physical or mental damage should they not be acknowledged for laying down there well being so that we could have the life we enjoy living here in America I think it's the same thing to say that a soldier should be discredited because they killed themselves or their families is wrong because they weren't that person until they were subjected to the irreversible subject matter that cause them to become or to act that way.

  • I think it's wrong for the Benoit name to be recognize has almost taboo to speak of that's horrible just because what he did it wasn't his fault or maybe it was but if the data shows that it was caused by his bring being ruined that's like telling somebody who's triple we shouldn't care about them or acknowledge them because they don't function properly

    Joel MiramontesJoel Miramontesวันที่ผ่านมา
  • What happened in this situation to Mr. Benoit is horrendous but more damaging to the situation is not understanding what he did is a result of brain damage. It's not tolerable but at the same time it can't be buried people have to know that as a result of constant beating to the Head which results in brain damage can lead somebody who's absolutely incapable otherwise of committing such an act. If we brush it under the rug who's going to say that 10 years from now somebody else isn't going to start doing it again and the same cycle will be repeated. instead of having data to show that the brain under constant abuse can become rodded turning somebody into a violent person who can commit atrocitiesit. I've seen studies where people have been in car wrecks and hit their head hard enough to result in them having almost supernatural powers or being able to have problem solving language skills mathematics skills that they once never had so to say that the opposite can't happen to where the brain is ruined instead of improved is wrong. We need to have this evidence are this on record so that it doesn't happen again. You're supposed to learn from your mistakes not bury them and then let them come up again some other time in the future that's the whole reason we take data study learn from it. Perfect example is the movie concussion those football players also some of them could be in the Hall of Fame should they be stripped of that just because they went suicidal and killed everybody including themselves. maybe at the same time they should be acknowledged they deserve to be recognized for what they accomplished before the tragedy happened.

  • Nearly thirteen years later, I still find it hard to believe that it even happened. I remember learning of the deaths, of the Benoit family, hours before the scheduled Raw program that night. I was, like so many others, shocked. 2007 was a difficult year. In June, the Benoit tragedies occurred. In October, I lost my friend when her husband murdered her and then committed suicide, and then in November, Sean Taylor was killed. My heart goes out to Nancy's sister, Chris' son David, and all of the family and friends who lost someone special then. When Eddie passed in 2005, it was painful to learn about as well. I hope that everyone was able to take something away from this two part series. I had long felt that the entire family had been murdered but those thoughts faded the more I got into this show. It's always going to be a tragedy and its hard not to shed a tear (or many) while reading up and learning about this unimaginable weekend. Rest in Peace, Nancy and Daniel. Thank you, Chris Jericho and Chavo Guerrero for your honest and sincere commentary.

  • Sad for everyone involved, but the damage stays more with those who stay behind like Chris’s son and those who knew him and his family. Shame on the WWE for casting him aside, and not aiding his family who were left distraught. Vince didn’t take the initiative to handle the situation behind the scenes and reach out to help Benoit’s remaining family. JR had to take all the crap at the funeral instead of Vince who was the chairman. Totally irresponsible on WWE’s part. Sweeping the dirt under the rug doesn’t remove it, it just continues to gather further.Cheers to Chavo and Jericho for being just and helping David with the hand he was dealt with.

  • People are so quick to hate & that’s greatly contributed to the horrible things in the world today... We as human beings overall have lost our empathy, compassion & desire to be bothered to look beyond the face of something, it’s sad because it’s usually the people that know very little about something that spread the most hate, it’s hard to be happy in a world filled with so much judgement & negativity.... I’m not just talking about Benoit, but everything overall. Every action has a reaction, but people usually only tend to care & focus on the reaction... I’m not in any way condoning what Benoit did, but I try to imagine the turmoil going on in his mind to even fathom something like that being the only way out in his mind, let alone actually doing it!! He needed help & even he probably didn’t know that!! The brain damage he had probably left him truly believing down was up & up was down... Plus back then we knew little about the seriousness of brain damage caused to Wrestlers (or WWE hid it), especially repeated brain injury over time, our brains & brain cells aren’t built to sustain that kind of constant abuse & still function normally. It’s like if you thrash a brand new car constantly, it’ll still run fine for a while (sometimes), but down the track things will start breaking & wearing out faster. Benoit was what forced the issue to be looked into properly... It’s not about “making excuses”, it’s a very probable reason, on top of his grief about Eddy, we don’t have to like that there’s a genuine medical reason that might not have anything to do with “roid rage”, but we can’t deny facts just because we don’t like them, I think people tend to just prefer to be able to view people as monsters so they feel like they could never possibly be the same... Fans love Wrestlers but the industry itself doesn’t care one bit about them & that’s the truth, they’re literally used as tools until they’re done with them & then they’re tossed away like they’re nothing & left to live with the destruction their dream did to their minds & bodies... I don’t think Wrestlers actually grasped the full extent of just how little they’d be cared for by the industry & how much physical & mental damage it’d cause them when they first go into it, things are a bit different now, mostly because of Benoit, but it’s still not good... The only times they’re treated well by the industry is while they’re at their height making WWE mega millions & no one wrestler does that for very long... I’m a female & I love Wrestling but only in recent years am I really starting to grasp how lonely & used they must really feel when they’re not in the ring, especially once they’re not “#1” anymore. To destroy their bodies, be treated like royalty by the industry (if they’re lucky) for a short time, then discarded to make way for the next cash cow, that can’t feel good no matter who you are... They don’t even make much money for what they do, the industry gets most of it!! Ever noticed how most wrestlers, even the ones that’ve been working for many years usually live in average houses? Most of their designer clothes are sponsored, if they have anything of huge value it’s usually a car cause most guys love that, but I’ve noticed the few that have multi million dollar mansions & cars ect tend to be the ones that’ve also been stars in big movies & clothing labels ect, that’s where they’ve actually made most of their fortune from, they really make FA, even most UFC fighters don’t make that much money.... WWE is good at creating mirages & covering things up, it’s what they do best, I bet that’s why they didn’t reach out to the Benoit family cause they already knew they had a role to play too but wanted to distance themselves from it, but Benoits case more than anything else before it uncovered just how battered & uncared for Wrestlers really are, but the worst part is because of “what happened” too many people were/are too busy hating on Benoit & missing the point & real issue completely while it’s quietly being covered over by the swift changing of some Wrestling rules & protocols ect.... It’s nice to see a quick scroll through comments shows a lot more maturity & less hate... His living son shouldn’t be burdened with hate for something someone else did, that makes no physiological or moral sense!! He lost his whole family too & was only a kid himself at the time!! Nice to see more love & less hate in most comments here ☺️💜

  • Holy moly, there is a LOT to unpack here. I stumbled across this by accident, and I remember hearing the man's name in the news. Mr. Jericho seems like a genuine human being. I know he is going to be on one of my favorite shows coming up, and people are calling him names, but what a genuine human being. I never knew that these guys were so articulate and devoted to their families, so shame on me!!! I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on this, because it's so complex. For example, the program referenced the fact that the promoters were only interested in these larger than life characters, and he wanted that so bad he took these risks. I had NO idea what these men and women go through. At the end, I had more questions than answers, but wow. Way to go to the ladies and gents at Vice on this one. Thought provoking stuff.

  • This story is sad on so many levels. I appreciate them telling the story of Eddie because I think Eddie was the one to keep Benoit "centered" in a sense. I believe if Eddie hadn't passed then Benoit would've sought help for the CTE & dark thoughts. Benoit seems like one of those that does things based on his best friends opinion or help. You have two families that were impacted and i feel so bad for David; people can try to demonize him for honoring his father but... we can't say how we would act in that situation. I'm a daddy's girl so if my father was to kill my mom and sibling at the age David was.... I don't know how i would feel. I feel David holds on to the "happier" times but he also knows what his dad did to his step brother and mother. It's a horrible situation to put a child through. I remember so much about Benoit case since I was a teenager at the time he killed his family but this doc was the best to put it all together with a lot of the families commentary.
